20131026_192310

Every year, the Berkeley Edge Conference brings underrepresented students who are competitively eligible for Ph.D. programs here at UC Berkeley.  The conference introduces prospective students to faculty in the science, mathematics, and engineering departments, offering students the opportunity to tour campus research facilities and national laboratories. It also provides pragmatic advice about Berkeley’s graduate program application process and the process for winning fellowships.

Activities included
·         Having lunch with students
·         Welcome dinners at Hotel Shattuck
·         Visit to San Francisco and a short boat cruise on the Bay

LAGSES members have participated in the events to meet prospective students and provide insight on graduate school. The Berkeley edge conference took place in late october.
